House Rules - Version 2

Our Promise to You

  • A productive and enjoyable place to work

  • Work space, power, blazing fast Internet, coffee and tea

  • Hassle-free use of our meeting space

  • An incredible community of smart, friendly and helpful independent coworkers to connect with from all over the Sheboygan region (and beyond!)

  • All the information you need to participate in the Sheboygan Works community and related events and activities

  • Opportunities to host events of your own, including classes, social gatherings and workshops

  • Advance notice of any changes to services, fees or other updates, sent to the email address(es) you’ve provided us

  • An always-open line of communication, and confidence that you can share with us any and all questions, concerns or ideas: info@sheboygan.works or (920) 212-2201

  • Entrances and common areas are under video surveillance for safety and security. In general, we do not try to aim cameras at individual desks for your privacy.

Your Responsibilities

  • Sheboygan Works is a workplace; treat the space and your neighbors with respect and consideration. When you walk out the door, make sure the space is in the same condition (or better!) as it was when you walked in the door.

  • Your stuff is your responsibility. It’s your job to make sure that you do not leave anything at Sheboygan Works when you leave, unless it’s on your dedicated desk or in a designated secure storage space. If you do, and after a reasonable time has passed, we can do what we want with it.

  • Practice network safety. If you’re hacked while on our network, or if our WiFi goes down, or if someone steals something from you, it’s not on us. We will, however, do whatever we can to help you resolve the issue.

  • Use your own stuff, not your neighbor’s. If you do need something, send up a flare. We’re here to help.

  • Participation is an extreme sport. If you break it, lose it or cause any losses, claims or damages, we’re going to have to ask you to make it right.

  • Respect your neighbor’s smarts, and they’ll respect yours. When you see something on somebody’s monitor or around the printer or on a whiteboard somewhere, forget you saw it. You don’t want your client or your ideas made public and neither does your fellow Sheboygan Worker.

  • Practice kindness. We have zero tolerance for harassment. Every Sheboygan Works member and guest should feel welcome, comfortable and productive in our space regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion or other personal attributes or beliefs.

  • Think before you click. No torrents, porn, or excessive streaming not related to work. And Sheboygan Works cannot be responsible for third-party data, websites, links or services.

  • Keep it legal. We have zero tolerance for anyone using the Sheboygan Works space or resources to conduct or pursue any illegal activities, or any activity that is generally regarded as offensive.

  • Events are great; until they’re not. It’s your job to provide us with advance notice prior to hosting any event at the Sheboygan Works space.

  • Be key smart. If we’ve entrusted you with a key to get into the building and/or Sheboygan Works space, we’ve given it to you—not your neighbor, partner or guest. Keep it to yourself, don’t make copies and do not allow any guest(s) to enter the space unless it is to attend your meeting and they then leave before you do. If your key is lost or stolen, or for any reason at our discretion, we may deactivate it at any time.

  • Communication is a two-way street. You’re responsible for letting us know right away if there are any changes to your contact and payment information. It’s also on you to read the emails we send you with changes to our services, fees and other updates.

Noise

  • Within the limits of community noise ordinances, you are free to make as much noise as is necessary to do your work. This could be phone calls, video calls, talking, or even drilling if you’re working on a craft project. As such, you should bring good noise cancelling headphones if you do not want to hear such noises.

  • Depending on which space you are in, it may be okay to play music softly without headphones, but please only do so if it won’t interfere with the work and concentration of others near you (i.e., ask them first).

  • If you will be doing many calls and talking a lot, consider renting one of the private booths. Be aware, though: they are not completely soundproof.

Access

  • In general the spaces are available 7am to 7pm Monday-Friday, and sometimes on the weekend or as prearranged with us.

  • It won't happen often, but Sheboygan Works reserves the right to schedule blackout dates for events.

Meetings and Guests

  • Feel free to invite people to join you for meetings in the conference room (no additional cost).

  • If they plan to stick around and work, they should pay to rent one of our spaces or for general admission

Bikes and Gear

  • Bikes and outerwear can be stowed in the side entry or near your workspace if there is room.

Renovations & Improvements

  • Sheboygan Works may make additional facility improvements that benefit the community, and will try to minimize any associated disruption to members.

Pets

  • No pets allowed. This allows us to keep the space usable for all.
